03  jan  2013

As the nation continues to take to the streets to protest on crimes against women, a Delhi-based entrepreneur has initiated a Facebook campaign and has demanded that MPs and MLAs charged with crimes against women quit.

The Facebook page Resign before Jan 26th wants the accused out before the country celebrates Republic Day.

The page, which was set-up two days ago, has already garnered more than 1,300 likes. The page owner plans to wait till January 15 to send a petition to the President of India and various party leaders to initiate action against the accused.

There are currently 2 MPs and 42 MLAs in India who have been charged with crimes against women.

Those who want to support this motion can also tweet with the hash tag #ResignBeforeJan26th.
